Lysis of Adhesions Treatment
The lysis of adhesions procedure is executed under a local anesthetic and starts with the placement of a catheter into the epidural space. The catheter can be used to break up scar tissue, as well as to inject medications into the area, including anesthetics, corticosteroids, hypertonic saline, or hyaluronidase. For some patients, a series of follow-up injection treatments could be suggested over the period of multiple days while the catheter stays in place. When this is not needed, the catheter will be carefully taken out and you will be monitored for an amount of time prior to being sent home to recover and heal.
